It's the ideal, filmi wedding setting - the sound of laughter, lively music, plenty of food and a great party vibe. As bridal henna artists in London, most of our bridal appointments are done at either mehndi/ sangeet style functions, which make for incredible photos and beautiful memories, but also take a little more organising. So ladies, although we promise to do most of the work when it comes to getting your mehndi just right, there is a little bit you can do to help get it just perfect! Here are our 6 essential steps to perfect bridal mehndi on the day of your appointment.
WORK WITH YOUR ARTIST
Communicate with us. So everyone is comfortable and confident, discuss design and expectations. Then trust that we’ll deliver. We always do.
LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION
Position yourself in a place you’ll be comfortable and warm (for dark stain) enough to sit for a few hours. Your artist needs a comfortable space in which to work too. Somewhere well lit, easy to move around and without too much interruption. This is how we create beautiful, intricate designs with clean lines. The reason why you booked.
Remove any creams and lotions
Do your nails and get your wax before your henna appointment – acetone and products can fade your mehndi
Go to the loo – anything that reduces the times you have to get up is a plus
Lastly, eat something. You’ll be happier for it - guaranteed!
BE ON TIME
We know time schedules at weddings aren’t the easiest to predict or stick to, but be realistic about what time you’re going to start your henna. Knowing the time we start your booking means that we’re not rushed and your henna will be as beautiful as you imagined.
FAMILY & FRIENDS
Although it’s great fun to be around your friends and family who all have design ideas; you’re the bride - know what you want and go with your gut instinct! After all, who knows best about what suits you?
SAVE THE DANCING FOR LATER
At the risk of sounding like bores, we have to say it - getting up half way through your mehndi appointment to have a dance almost guarantees smudging your mehndi. Don’t let your time and money go to waste, wait until your mehndi dries then dance the night away. There’s always plenty of time.
GIVE YOUR HENNA A LITTLE T.L.C.
Watch this space for tips on how to make your henna last longer. Coming soon!
Most of all just relax and enjoy the experience. It’s your wedding, a chance to take some time off and let us do the rest. We’re going to add that extra glamour to make you look truly fabulous for it. If you haven't already booked your date with us, get in touch.
